Are Bubble Water Toys Safe For Children?

Update:13 May 2022

Blowing bubbles must be a fond childhood memory for many people. When I was a kid, I could blow bubbles with a straw, even with soap, washing powder, or detergent mixed with a little water. Today, there are a variety of bubble machines on the market that let us automatically blow a series of colorful bubbles at the touch of a finger, and some can also emit light and play music. So are bubble water toys safe?

Some inspectors took some samples for experiments and found that the pH value of 6 samples was in the normal range, between 5 and 7; 9 samples were between 7 and 8.5, slightly higher than the normal value; 1 sample was in the normal range. The PH value of the sample reached 8.71, which is on the high side. Referring to the relevant requirements of rinsing daily chemical products, the pH value of children's products should be between 4.0 and 8.5.

When the pH of the contact liquid is too high, it is easy to irritate the skin, especially since the skin of infants and young children is more sensitive, which may lead to dermatitis and other problems. However, although the pH of the bubble liquid is too high, there is a risk of causing skin problems, and you don't have to worry too much. It can be avoided by washing your face and hands with water in time after playing.

When purchasing a bubble machine, consumers should carefully check the product description and pay attention to whether the product description and logo are complete, including the manufacturer's name, address, and instructions for use. When buying, be sure to avoid buying "three no products".
